Need new wheels and tires for maxx truck. - 01.03.2009, 04:33 PM

I'm looking for all-terrain tires and wheels with 17mm hexes. I'll also need 17mm hex adapters. I'm looking for something a little ligher than the stock tires and i don't want the tires to be mostly rim.

If you guys have any sugestions, it'd help a lot! Thanks!

Badlands MT! Just make sure to clean the inside of the tire with rubbing alcohol and tape them, otherwise they get a bit crazy after 25MPH. For rims use Maximizer beadlocks and OFNA/HoBao 17mm hex adapters. Great combo, many of us are using the same thing on here

Would the maximizer 17mm adapters be any good?

and about how crazy are the badlands compaired to the stock maxx tires over 25mph?

Badlands are the best all terrain tire I have found. I use maxximizer beadlocks, and balanced the whole assy. The duct tape on the inside of the tire is a must. Onne wrap with about 1" of overlap will do. I use the clear heavy duty 3m stuff, seemed a bit lighter than std grey duck tape, and still had all of the string stuff in it. Plus it was super sticky. This combo will be a bit heavier than a stock tire, but will last longer and perform better.

One more suggestion... Molded foams are a good investment as they last longer and work better than std forams. If you are using beadlocks they are not really necessary but I prefer to not have to change foams before the tire is worn out...
