The original hv4400 sucked balls, and I dont mean in a good way. If you upgrade the rotor to the sintered one (ebay is your best bet), or get the 5mm shaft and front endbell upgrade kit, it makes fora very reasonable setup, equal to a hv6.5 only without the minor tunability software options.

Feed it a pair of half decent 2s lipos (5000mah 20-25c is plenty) and change the tamiya plugs to deans or trx ones, and it should do just fine. Im assuming you have the original hvmaxx system which is why you're asking about it for your truck...

yup, it came with the gmaxx, If I don't use it on here I don't know what I will do with it, tried it in the slash with 4s and it was still not as fast as the 5700 on 3s, thought about scrapping the esc and just use the motor with a mm

Definately worth checking out the upgraded rotor for it- makes it produce much more torque which in turn means its a much more enjoyable and powerful system, roughly equal to a 9L on 4s lipo say. The motor by itself with a different esc wont perform any better- lack of torque due to the older, weaker rotor.
