The Pro.70 Motor in my EK4 continues to serve me well but whole "huge motor, simple chassis" concept itself is a dinosaur
Rather than sell it or trash it though I've moved the engine to the display cabinet and i converted the roller to Brushless.
It'll upset the EK4 purists but what the heck
It put up a fight, but this RCM Motor Mount for the ST1 is in place. A lot of drilling, slotting and cussing contributed.
I hoped that it would be a slot-in deal as TTR are famed for being lazy and carrying over parts from old designs to later cars, but this time looks like they had other ideas
The front diff needs a rebuild and I have parts on order. Until then I'll test on 2WD.
The gearing on the EK4 is pretty low and after calculations I worked out that to simulate the 17,500rpm/18T pinion combo of the Nitro version, a 10T pinion/8XL/4S would be similar. I used a 12T pinion as a start point figuring the low end torque of the 8XL will pull through.
I always thought the EK4's were sick trucks back in the day. Even today I still want one but their card to find and when you can find one their pricey.
