540 adapter for Neu 1107?

I have my eye on a Neu 1107/6D or 1107/2Y for a couple of applications.

I want to have one of those motors in either my crt.5 or my TC4. Both cars currently have an R1 Pro sitting in them.

So.....i've been trying to read up on the 1107 motors, and the most that I've gotten is that they won't fit on a standard 540 mounting system. I'm sure that the 1107's will be tons better than the 5700MM I'm running in the TC4 and the VXL motor in the .5 (previously had a 5700MM in it until a friend decided that the shaft needed breaking).

I've been running the 5700MM in the TC4 for awhile, switched it out for a Tekin 448 but then I burned it out. Guess that's what happens when you decide to run a 5S in a touring car. Switched back to the 5700, but truth be told, I'm starting to get the itch for more speed and power and I'm starting to tire of the 5700. I don't want to go with the 6900 or 7700...i prefer to keep my battery options more open.

Ennyhoo...anyone have any motor suggestions (aside from Feigao)? Or can anyone tell me about the 1107 and where to get an adapter so that it can mount up to the standard 540 motor mounts?

Your help would be great appreciated.


If worse comes to worst, I'll just pull the 1515/1.5D from the X-1 CRT and mod the chassis of the TC4 to make the buggah fit. I don't really want to have to do that, tho. I have a feeling that the TC4 diffs won't really be liking me too much.

the 15xx and 14xx series are 540 sized, i doubt that the 11 series will provide any more performance then the mm5700... it will probably be worste because its a smaller, shorter motor.

Best bet for the tc4 might be a 1506 and a 1509 for the .5.

Also look into medusa motors, they make a great motor....if you like blue ;)

+1. The 11** series motors are for 18th scale use. One of the fastest RC cars in the world was a NTC3 converted to electric and ran a Neu 1509.

I don't know what the pattern is on the neu, but I have used these a couple times to run 380 size motors in cars with a 540 size motor plate. Might be an option.

so it looks like a 1509 is in order then. I didn't know that the 11 series was for 1/18 applications.

Looks like I might hafta pick one up anyway. I do have an 18R that is also giving me the puppy dog eyes for more speed.

Will the 1109 offer more speed and torque than the current C4 8000KV that I'm running in there? More speed is great.

Now I just need to appropriate the funding.

what is y'alls opinion on a 1506/1y on 3-4S for the TC4 and a 1509/1y on 3S for the .5?


I'm looking for speeds upwards of 80mph for the TC4 and at least 45-50 for the .5 .

Both can be run on either 3S or 4S.

Just an FYI, the Neu motors 1112 are rated for 600 watts continuous, 1200 watts surge, while the 1506 motors are rated for 500 watts continuous, 1000 watts surge. The 1112 is the same length as a standard 540, and smaller diameter while the 1506 motors are 4 mm wider than a standard 540.

The added diameter is where you get the power to pull that weight around. I used to work on electric carts for handicapped people and they only had 180 watt motors but were rated to handle over 500 pounds of load.

I have run the 1112 in a light 1/10 car no problems. Gotta gear it right, but it is fast. Used that holmes hobbies plate to bolt it up, you have to have 2.5m countersunk screws too.

How light? My Rustler is around 3-4 pounds and a CC CM36 motor powers it perfectly.

Yeah, 3-4 pounds. Light lipo really really helps too, you can get away with a high discharge 2200 pack with the right gearing.

It isn't the most powerful setup, but it is pretty nice for an efficient and light vehicle.

Since it has not been mentioned, you really need a motor with a 5mm shaft for the crt.5. No slipper and the steel spur will kill an 1/8 shaft quickly.

I would go for the medusa motors for both apps. A 50mm with an 1/8 shaft sounds good for the tc4, and a 50mm with a 5mm shaft for the crt.5. You could go up to a 60mm motor for the crt.5, It will draw a bit more but can handle more load if you want to gear up.

I successfully ran a tc to mid 70s with a feigao 380c motor, so I am sure the 11 series neu can do it. You may not fit a 15 series motor in the tc4, due to the larger than std 540 diamter can, 39mm vs 36mm.

Medusa motors are 36mm diameter, so they fit a little better in tight spaces. Plus you can get 2 medusa for the price of 1 15 sereis neu.
