17mm wheel hexes your choice?

hey guys just running a pole here about 17mm hexes for the revo, i have the ofna ones now for a couple of years and i`m not liking how they let the wheels wobble a bit so i searched whats available and found a few. so i want to check if anybody had any experience with any of them (good+bad)

Well I have both the Maximizer and Ofna adapters and they seem to work ok, but I am not a racer either. I like the look of the New Erra hexes, because they are a simple snap in with a coller type washer to keep the wheel centered. The TRX adapters look kind of like a fancy duplicate of the Ofna product. I still think that there must be a better design that someone can come up with. I also have a few sets of the 17mm adapters for the UE (6mm & 8mm) axles that look pretty good as well. RIght now I do not think that any of them are the perfect solution for the problem.

Out of what you posted I like the M2C the best, then the Traxxas. The Maximizers plastic washer can crack, not as durable as the M2C. No experience with New Era. But have you thought about updating your axles to 8mm? Tekno offers a complete axle carrier that uses 8mm axles and 17mm hexes, just like the buggies and truggies. If you let Mike know that you're interested, I know he can start carrying them in his store.
Another way to get 8mm axles and 17mm hexes (but more expensive) is to buy the RD Racing carriers, the RD Racing 8mm axles for M2C hexes, and the M2C hexes for RD Racing axles. Pretty sweet setup, but pricey.

i`d rather buy something that is a direct fit, and i think i`m leaning towards the M2C ones , there alot of votes for traxxas but nobody here said their good :P

The Tekno ones are a direct fit in that you replace your old axle carriers with the new, stronger ones. But the M2C ones are less expensive, so if you're looking to not spend as much, they're the way to go.

I'm not a fan of anything, that will slip the pin if it gets loose. Of those you show, I pick the traxxas ones. I haven't tryed the traxxas ones but i have the ofna ones and they should be similar

I have the Ofna, the Traxxas, and the plastic ones from Maximizer products and I completely would endorse the Traxxas ones. They are very nice, fit well, and so far have remained very tight on my brushless E-Maxx

the point of losing the pin that crazyjr made is very valid and i missed it before, then i`m settled i think i`ll go with the traxxas hexes :D

I run my e-revo alot and the traxxas 17mm hexes developed alot of play in the center in a short amount of time. I have been putting heat shrink over the axel to make the hex fit better but have to replace it every 5 or 6 runs.

i have ran the traxxas hexxe's but now i have the RD racing/M2C racing carrier/axle/hex upgrade a big improvement over stock

they still need a couple shim's but they are a much better fit IMO

yes, stock axles have too much play with adapters, I tried them but changed to Tekno RC axle carries with 8mm axle, much better

well i have RPM carriers all around and i dont want to lose them :/ i`ll put some shrink tube around the axels before putting on the traxxas adapters

the one thing I didnt like about the Maximizers were the plastic washers they do deform when tightening down, I replaced them with some steel washers from Home Depot
