If the ESC restarted it was probably an overheat situation. Or maybe LVC... Was the pack full?

It's just gremlins.....if you are patient with them they will go away forever.

I'm not sure I believe that fire is "just gremlins." Fire is a serious hazard.

It has been several months since I ran my vehicles and I had both my older MMM's replaced with new v3's nicely tucked inside my trucks ready for the season to start here in the northeast but I was living under the dilution that the v3 was the fixed version. I hope it is.

Gremlins, as in, it's a mass-produced, high-power electronic device. If you happen to get a defective one there's no sense in throwing a fit. The V3 is the "fixed" version. Unfortunately there is absolutely no way to tell what caused his to fail. I had a V2 fail on me a while back. I didn't bother starting another MMM pity thread about it because these things do not phase me anymore. I wish more people would realize how fragile these devices actually are.

I don't mind defective products. I DO mind something that could cause harm to me, my personal property or other people. I'm familiar with products who "let the smoke out" but when they start letting the flames out, that's a problem.

I believe the three strikes rule will apply here, MMMv1, we rushed them so I'll give them a pass. The v2 was early product teething problems. But if the v3 is flawed it is just game over.

Now I have not had a failure so I'm not saying there is a problem - just reading what others post here. And I have always loved my MM which is still one of the best ESC's I've ever owned.

Fire is always a danger when you have 100 watt hours of pack short circuited somewhere. 6 horsepower creates heat pretty fast. The only difference between fire and heat is the size of the battery fueling it.
