Help me Identify this Motor!! - 05.13.2009, 11:17 AM

I just bought a huge RC buyout and this system was in the deal but I do not have any specifics about the motor. Can any of you identify this motor? It does not have any writing on it and the heat sink has no signs of even coming off. It's on there really good.

This is the ESC it is hooked too.

Thanks for the help fellas. I want to sell this system but I don't know what kind of motor it is. It's a really nice ESC and the owner said the motor had huge torque. I looked up the ESC and they are around $275 new so it has to be a good motor. He only used it a couple times and really forgot what kind it was. He had around 40-45 trucks so I can't imagine why...

Looks like a cheap feigao motor. I would ask lincpimp, he has owned more motors than everyone else here combined.

I got another email back from the owner because I sent him a request for info this morning and he thought it may be a Hacker or a Leher. He said to go and look on their sites to see if I could identify the motor.

The black endbells and black wires lead me to think it is a hacker motor as well. Can you measure it for me? The length of the can w/o the shaft, and the diameter of the can too. Looks like it has an 1/8 shaft...

The heatsink looks to be one of the slide on units that was cut to fit the motor when it was mounted close to the chassis or some other flat object. It might be glued on as well, with some thermal epoxy.

Looks to be a S can motor, so not much good for anything over 10th scale 2wd, or a 4wd 10th buggy. God only knows what the kv is.

With those diminsions and 1/8" shaft, it looks to be a Hacker S can motor. As far as which turn, you'll have to do some testing.

Thats a really nice ESC tho!

It was on a Extreme Carbon Fiber Emaxx chassis. He was into RCMT races and was getting it set up for indoor carpet racing and just never got around to it. He had 15 clod busters he used and raced. Said he had owned over 50 throughout the years. Crazy how much stuff he had and how much I came home with. I have a real nice Tekno converted Revo and this system. I will test it out and see how she does!!! It's all for sale. hehe

In a Emaxx? wow, wrong setup there....

I wouldn't run that motor in a Revo tho. Thats a "S" can and its entirely too small for a Revo. It would be great in a 1/10 car or stadium truck tho!
