Unfortunately, I am not qualified to help with technical questions. I suggest that Monday you email tech@teamnovak.com for assistance.

Are you sure that your version of the HV esc has a built-in lipo cut-off? Early versions did not---we call the lipo version the HV Pro. Here is a link to our current HV info:

HV PRO BRUSHLESS SYSTEM

I believe that we advise users to keep their motor temps under 175 degrees. I can't find any info that says you cannot use a glitch buster cap with the HV motors:

We include our HV Trans-Cap module with our HV controllers and as an aftermarket accessory:

Power Trans-Cap Module -- HV Pro

Here is an explanation of these modules (with photo):

NOVAK ELECTRONICS POWER CAPACITOR

Quote:
...The Novak capacitor modules have more than just a power capacitor, we have also included on this module two Transient Suppressors and three High Frequency Decoupling Capacitors.

The two Transient Suppressors act like a voltage clamp and prevent high voltage spikes from damaging the ESC, and the three High-Frequency Decoupling Capacitors filter out radio interference noise....
