So I fried my eZRun 7800kv and I want to get something that is long to last forever and run cooler.
I have a TheToyz 20mm HeatSink that w/ thermal paste reduced the temp of the motor by 10*F, so I would like to reuse it.
I think that a 1100 Neu would be WAY overkill and Medusa offers a 28mm which wouldn't allow me to use my heatsink but it's still an option.
CastleCreations 20mm Mamba motors sell for $60 which seams like a lot because the design doesn't seam that much better then the eZRun motor for over 2X the price.
Should I just go with the Medusa and sell the heatsink?
Does anyone have any other motors I should check out?

The higher kv 28-32mm motors draw more than 25A so my ESC can't handle it. I'm thinking I should just go with the Castle 5400 or 6800 or maybe test my luck and get the eZRun 5200...
I'm pretty sure I'll just wait until I get my next Tower coupon so I'll prob get a CC20mm them.
EDIT
So the Tekin motors are the hot ticket...

Look at the hobbycity 28mm 3900 turnigy motor. It's essencially the same as the ammo 3900. It's a real hot motor. It costs $17 bucks too. It'll leave any 20mm motor in the dust.
The Medusa is a GREAT option. It's right on par with Neu, especially because they are the same size.
I think I'm going to get the 5200kv eZRun. I think I had such bad luck with the 7800kv because even though I was only using a 2S that was 57720RPM which proved to be too much for the eZRun motor. The 5200kv on 2S with the MT tires should be just as fast as my old setup and run much cooler and be much more efficient.

They're about the same. You could just gear up to compensate the very small difference. There's nothing wrong with gearing up... Final drive is all that matters.
28mm motors produce more power then 20mm motors. 28mm motors are faster then 20mm motors in any vehicle.
Any 28mm motor will own up on all the 20mm motors.
If you're really worried, you could run 3s lipo, but you'd have to get a better speed control. The 1/10th scale sidewinder is a great choice...
What would the total ratio be once you factor in the spur and pinion gear in each car? The Vendetta ST is often run with 13/45 (at least my old one was) and the popular gearing for a RC18MT is 12/60...
I'm not doubting the 28mm will have more power but I would like to keep my current 25A eZRun ESC and 2S lipos. If I were to get a 20mm motor I could also use my TheToyz heatsink.
I'm not trying to be stubborn it's just that I was happy with the speed and power of my old set up and Im pretty sure a 20mm 5200kv will be enough for me.
But just to see Ill play arond with the too speed calculator and see if I could get the 3900kv motor to work on 2S without having to gear too high. I don't care about it's just that with the DP gearcover your gearing range is greatly reduced...
I kinda wish I went with the Vendetta ST my 2nd time around...
I could sell my 18T but with the Mini Revo Im going to loose too much money so Im going to try and make the best of what I have.
