G2r Revo Project - 07.06.2008, 12:06 PM

Hello longtime no see, hehe.

Ok, this is the deal, I bought used g2r Revo roller a sometime ago. Now im a bit lost what to put into it? I have thought castles mamba monster + neu set, but those will be available sometime in August, right? Purpose is to get it running end of this month..
And what comes to batterys, I have considered these https://www.tanicpacks.com/product_i...a69ab2aae5007b. Im done with dealing lipos, two of my 3s2p packs have swelled cause of winter driving.. and I like the 15min charging times for a123..

What do you guys think? Some nice motor/esc combo and about those batterys are them better than lipos? Enough questions for now.

Heres some pictures:

Maybe I should wait for the mmm set and for now order just some basic XL motor, how's that sounds? I already own bk12020 esc so I could use it temporary.
Any suggestion for the a123 battery packs, maybe 09xl?
Btw, does Mike sell a123 packs havent seen any in the store?

I will keep you guys updated, but now I need really bad some advices what to order hehe.

I would check neil's thread - 2x6s1p A123 packs in a triangle formation. That is also what I intend to build for use with a 9XL and a MMM.

Castle are recommending Tanic at the moment for A123 packs - maxamps can also build them.

I've been using 2 5S A123 battery on my EMAXX with 8XL + CC MM. Pretty good runtime and acceleration not to mention wheelie on demand. I have this 2 6S A123 on the way and will try it on a medusa 2000kv + MM... (while waiting for MMM, not sure if it will arm but I know someone did it and he has no prob at all)

I think 9XL would be good enough with MM....but not ideal for 6S2P (might burn esc)

Nice pics...keep them coming

Thanks guys!

Now I have something to start with, so BK12020 (which I already own), 9XL & Two 6s A123 packs. Should be enough power. BK12020 is good to 6s lipos and 120A continous, so there shouldn't be any problem?

Ok, so now the motor setup should be okay.
Now I would need some good charger and (balancer) any suggestion for that? Criterion to charge both A123 packs at the same time..
Btw, do I need to balance A123 packs ?

A hyperion Duo - does 2 packs at onceand has a built in balancer.

A123 do need balancing but seemingly less often...

That would be nice, but Mike doesn't carry them.. Gotta ask if he could order it for me at the same time with the battery packs. Does that charger have any specific name?
I have 14amp nosrams psu, can it handle both packs with maximum charge rate? It seems that I have to learn more about these A123 batterys, kinda new thing to me..

Diff's - You may need to get aluminum inner and outer cases...

9XL on 6s around 22 IIRC - Try Briang's speed calc

You mean this http://www.rc-monster.com/proddetail.php?prod=int3149s? So two of these, anything else? Arms, gears to the gearbox?

22 IIRC, sorry but what does it mean ?

22T pinion with 66T spur should be fine (iirc = if i recall correctly)

You should also look at the inner diff cups - Looks like mike doesn't sell them.

Arms are fine - you will need this http://www.rc-monster.com/proddetail...rod=RCM03idler
