Tore up a wire on my flux motor, can the motor be taken apart?

Ran my flux the other day and today I realized something must have hit the wire right were in comes out of the plastic holder on the motor, I removed the end cap but it would not come off anybody have experience with this? Thanks

Pics? Sounds to me like you pulled the rubber boot out of the can but it won't slide down the wires, is this right? The rear endbell is held on by screws, if you want to remove it just unscrew the endbell and tap the rotor on a hard surface and it should pop off.

No it tore the wire pretty bad, I took out the screws but it would not budge and I didnt want to force it till I knew it was safe.

Could you post up some pictures? Sounds like it may be best to just send it back to Castle and have it professionally repaired though.

For future reference, rotate the motor 90-180* so that the wires dont stick up in the air, instead they should go around the side or underneath the motor > esc.

the endbells are glued on. if you can get like a wooden dowel and put it inside the motor and whack it on a table or something you should be able to get it off without damage

The tear isn't near anything metal, so no risk of shorting on the can. Those aren't the motor windings, only extensions made from normal wire. I'd just throw some electrical tape on it and call it a day. If the wire has a lot of torn strands you may want to put some solder in there to ensure good conductivity.

Don't see any strands hanging out, heat shrink it and let it ride. Maybe some solder first ?

I have done that to one of my MM 5700 systems. Ended up just putting some solder on it to ensure conductivity and puttin a piece of shrink tubing over it. Worked perfectly for me may be worth a try.

It does look more like superficial damage to the rubber insulation than actual torn wire strands.
