bl motor set up info - 02.19.2006, 03:27 PM

ok guys help me out, i run a c-50 hacker on 12 cells, i do very well against the gas trucks at the local track, but now the track is longer, and the motor and speedo is hot at the end of the race, , i would like a lower temp on the motor and speedo, how can i acheive this, and can i do it with 12 cell and carry same speed with proper gearing, or is more cells needed with xl or l series motors , more run time would be nice to.

thanks

You would run into more heat problems with that combo the 6xl is to hot for the 9920 and you would get worse runtimes.
What kind of truck are you running???

You could look at a 7XL, but this really won't be any faster than a c-50 on 12cells. The 6XL might be OK on the 9920, but you'll probably need a fan on the controller. Ideally look into a 12020 or higher.

Using a 6xl would lower the runtimes though

I think 8XL or 9XL will help on run times and run cooler :027:

and you could gear up to get about the same speed as a 7xl without overloading the motor.

the 6xl would be just fine on 12 cells and would NOT be to much for the 9920. it should also give decent runtimes. probably around 15 minutes although thats just a guess. the 7xl if your looking for better runtimes and about the same speed as welll as being able to increase the amount of cells at a later date.

Easy there squee. All I said was the 9920 will run a little warm with a 6XL and he might need a fan!
