mmm v3 tips - 11.14.2009, 10:42 PM

i have been running my mmm straight outta the box in my mbx5t.as fun as it is it is a real handfull on the track.i want to make use of the castle link contraption and tune it so its a little less agressive on take off.i have played with the exp on my spectrum transmitter which has helped but still i get to about 1/3 throttle and it goes nuts.any tips out there for setting up the esc via the castlelink to calm it down a bit.i still want the speed i have just not till a little later in the trigger throw

Go into Castlelink and work with the throttle curve.

You can set full throttle to a percentage of full throttle. Just make the curve on the right side only go to 60% or so. You may have to play with this until you see the desired results.

Also, on punch control, set it to 100%. This will help tame take off somewhat.

I hope this helps

On my mbx-5T here is what I use w/good results. As sikes said, play with the settings until desired results. May take a couple of adjustments to get it to your liking

Adjusting the throttle curve is a great feature for control

brake amt. 60%
punch control 60%
low start power
lowest timing
rev. w/delay

I use 10% punch control max for track running - anything more and the midrange starts to get muddy. I usually grab the throttle curve at 50% and drag it down to the 40% line, making for a mild curve that softens the bottom end and starts to pour on the power more aggressively after half throttle. I set brakes to 50% on the castle Link and dial any extra out on my transmitter if needed. :)
