MMPro and drag racing - 10.26.2009, 05:03 PM

Well seasonal illness is delaying my calls to castle so here's my question.
How well do you guys think the mm pro will do in a touring car drag racing application? I'll most likely add a cap bank for extra protection. I'll be starting with a 4.5t Orion Vortex motor in a Xray T2 008.

any suggestions are welcome...

Well, the MMPro has about the same current capacity as the MM, so, figure ~80A. If the MM runs it, there is no reason the MMPro won't. However, since I assume you'll be running 2s or 3s, you aren't using the biggest advantage of the Pro, which is up to 6s.

Well I'm running a 4.5t motor so I want to be able to use the sensored start up for the best reaction times possible. There for the MM Pro or another sensored ESC is needed. The only other option for me would be the Tekin RS Pro, but I don't want to drop $250 on another Tekin esc when the MM Pro could do the job.

I'll be using it on 2s, 3s max. I really don't want to load up 6s on a TC chassis...

Seems to me that the MMPro would do it no problem.

Hopefully so. I got one ordered and I'll be picking up the Xray T2 Wednesday or Thursday.
