Reverse on Aftershock? - 11.08.2009, 01:39 AM

What will I need to make my Aftershock drive reverse also?

My conversion is almost done, only thing missing, is to install a one speed hub, and remove the mechanical brakes, and maybe switch places between the esc and batterytray.

You can see the result as it looks now here.

without knowing all the details on your setup and not being familiar with the Aftershock I can't be positive. But it looks like your using an electri clutch adapter, even when spinning in reverse the shoes will engage. As long as the tranny doesn't have some kind of one way bearing in it I would guess that all you need to do is enable reverse on the esc

once the one speed hub is fitted ,you should be able to go in reverse as long as the electric clutch engages,if it does you will have to change it to a standard pinion.

OK, I already changed the pinion. I will check when the one speed hub is installed.

Thanks for the replies.

Your Aftershock trans should be a forward only tranny so your already done, no worrys.

Providing the electra clutch engages in reverse ?

Yeah but I want to make it go reverse as well?

I tried removing the mechanical brakes, but all it does is spinning the rotor backwards. What do I need to get a forward/reverse tranny?

Hi !

To get reverse you have to remove the 1st gear and lock the 2nd gear onto the 2-speedcluch ! The 2-speedgearbox are made for oneway only !

Thats one of those clutch bell pinions correct, NO clutch shoes ?
Ditch it for a stamdard pinion.

Ditch the 2 speed gear assembly (you just don't need it) and get a Dude single speed hub.

THEN you'll have reverse, You can lock the second gear assembly as stated above but just make it easier on yourself and spend the $$ on the Dude hub.
