Its actually pretty sweet with all that carbon and high dollar aluminum hop-ups, the battery arrangement is also nice, but 6s and a FEIGO (i guess this is how you spell that word that ends with an IT) is a joke. With that hot setup it can go from 0-Shit in about 4.2 seconds!

on second thought that truck is big enough to mod a radiator (with fan) and small water pump to cool the esc and motor...plus that would be trick to see set up

Everything looks pretty dang good except the Motor/ESC choice, even running on 6s is questionable.

Motor Specs:
12-32 NiMh or 4s to 8s Lipo cells in a 30"- 40" mono or hydro.
1400 - 1800 Watts Maximum with proper cooling.
45mm Diameter x 76mm long
5mm Output Shaft for use with 5mm Couplers.
25mm Mounting Hole Spacing. Uses 3mm screws.
545 grams
Recommended rpm range 25k - 35k RPM.
2-Pole Neo Magnets & Compressed Windings

I mean it weighs 30lbs at least right? Maybe you could pull it off with an MMM and a 1520 1800kv geared for 40mph-35 on 6s with mild break setup... like 20% brake 100% punch control and timing at 0. The upcoming HVMMM would be more decent lol with a Plettenberg Bolido!

it's not that the motor can't handle 6s, that's no problem, it's that the motor isn't big enough to push that heavy of a vehicle, it will pull too many amps and fry the esc. A higher voltage setup and larger motor are required to get reliable performance out of something that size.

And it's not even an hpi it's a knock off.

Buy one and tell us how it does

The 580 motor is a pile of junk- as tested by a couple RCM members who said they burnt up after only a couple runs, in a mild setup. Its a feigao afterall

I'd stick a nice fat 1717 in there and a 200amp hobbycity HV boat/plane esc, then use mech brakes = made of win.

It's not even a real hpi Baja. It's a chineese knock off for $1700? I'll pass.

I can't decide if its more fun
to make it...
or break it...

Dear wangan9,

Hi,

Awesome build, but I'm concerned the Motor and ESC are not up to the task of pushing all that weight around efficently ? Have you tested this set up in a 25+lb RC ?

Thanks
J.M.

Dear bondonutz,

Hi, yes we built another one identical to this one for another customer and it worked great. The motor's low kv is enough to move this baja and top speed is over 50mph on the supplied battery. Thanks.

- wangan9 Did this answer your question? If not, let the seller know.
