CC MMP with Tekin T8 any good? - 01.07.2010, 01:02 AM

I am wondering the combination of MMP with T8 1550kv or 1400kv (Sensor mode or Cheat mode)is OK or as good as Tekin Rx8 and T8 combo? Could anyone share their experience or suggestions?

for a 1/8 buggy geared conservatively- no problem. geared up it could pull too many amps.

I would say no dice on a 1/8 truggy or monster truck.

Consider it a 1/10 system and the MMM and RX8 as 1/8 systems

I forgot where, but people run this setup in their 1/8 buggies. On 4s, the ESCs stay around 130-140F with the fan on. Once they turn the fan off, the ESC temps shoot for the sky and it thermals. So as long as the fan stays on (or doesn't die on you), you're fine on 4s. On 6s, you'll pull much less current, so you should be fine...possibly even without the fan (I haven't seen anyone test a 6s setup with and without fan though).
In a truggy, I won't absolutely say it won't work as I've proven people wrong with other previously assumed "impossible" setups in a truggy, but I will say that it will generate more heat due to more current needed for the heavier load and 6s would be a requirement if you ever want to even try it in a truggy.

Mine barely even gets warm with the T8 1900 and 4s. With 6s and the 1400, you wont even have to worry. That's WAY less current that the strongest 2s setups in 1/10 scale. Btw, don't use cheat mode for anything except spec motors (13.5, 17.5, etc.).
