How to build a $19.99 power supply - 09.08.2010, 09:28 AM

First step: buy any computer power supplies...

i bought one for only $15 .. rated at 860W

If you look closely at the image below... my +12v is giving me 17A+19A= 36A... Well this is kul enough

2nd step: Only 2 colors that you need to remember

YELLOW: 12v output
Green : TRIGGER to turn on the power supplies ( to turn on: connected this to ground = earth = black cable)

3rd step:... open the box... and remove all of trunky cables...

4th step: pick your own cable ( 8g, 10G).. in red and black color...

RED conect to +12v Output ( which is yellow in color)
Black connect to Gnd

Buy yourself ON/OFF switch, then connect 1 terminal to Green cable, the other terminal to GND

Well... looks like things now ready ....

SWITCH on ....

By the way, the charger you see in the pics.. is pretty much same as the Imax quattro B6,

but have 4 x 60W > quattro B6 power...

And charger is only $120 US from rc-mushroom

Good write up, very good. I run 2 500w pc supplies for my charger, but server power supplies are even cheaper and run better and can handle more load

Picked up 2 hp 194989-002 server power supplies that push 32 amps a piece, shipped to my door for 17 Dollars, go pick one up- you will like it :)
