Novak HV 4.5 question - 03.11.2010, 07:03 PM

I just recently bought a new Novak HV 4.5 motor and I noticed that the center part of the can (the black part with the Novak logo) will move if I twist it. It's not loose where it will rotate by itself, but if I twist it by hand it will move. The endbells and the screws that hold them seem to be tight. Is this an issue? Is the motor assembled correctly or is something wrong with it? The rotor turns freely, but I have not fired it up because I am still waiting on my esc. I sent an e-mail to Novak support a few days ago but have not heard from them yet. Need feedback, because I was planning on running this weekend and I don't want to damage the motor if there is an issue with it.

The colored sleeves on our motors are more cosmetic than functional. Sometimes, the various tolerances among the parts result in looser sleeves. This will make no difference in the use or performance of your motor. In fact, we sell colored replacement sleeves for our 540 size motors.

We generally answer email promptly; if you get no answer within 24 hours, please resend your email---make sure to fill in the subject line with the words "Novak" or a "Product Name".
