i just bought a used mmm and u can remove the battery terminals from the speedo,is that a old version? i have 2 other mmm and the power wires are soldered directly to the speedo thanks

You mean the battery wires have 6.5mm bullets on the ends that plug into the speedo? Thats most likely a MMM v2.

Sounds like you have a V2 is it has 6.5mm female bullets on the battery side. There were a few V3's that did use the bullet connectors on the battery side. Check the color of the control board on the bottom of the controller. If it is green you've got yourself a V2, if it's blue you're got yourself a V3.

If it is a V2 and if it is working, let 'er run. If it isn't working or you just want an updated version, send it in for an automatic warranty replacement. Normally the warranty is non-transferable between users and is only good for a year; but the V2 has a lifetime warranty and will be replaced at no charge with a V3. This is also true for the V1 version of the controller, which has wires directly soldered to the board on the battery and motor side. Visit www.castlecreations.com/repairs for details.

But... the replacements are/can be refurbs (mine was)... so its its working leave it alone...
