I've had several and did a lot of testing pre-release for Mtroniks with the Beast.
It's a great ESC for the price, fully waterproof, built in datalogger and programme card. It runs nice on 3s but on 4s you need to start watching the temperatures, especially in a truggy where you have a bit of weight... although designed for 1/8ths, it's really pushing it hard!

we run 10 minute races so would one of these go ok for those times or would the temps get high?

where is the cheapest place to get them? at the prices i've seen, a MMM would be a much better choice.
They say a good mechanic only needs 2 tools - WD40 & Duct tape. If it moves, and its not supposed to, duct tape. If it doesn't move, and its supposed to, WD40.
i have a mmm already tho it is winging itsway back to castle for a repair. was looking at borrowing a mtronics beast for the interum. sounds like it is not to suited to 4s and truggys which i run. ah well, looks like a few weeks off from driving. that will keep the mrs happy

Since that Turnigy Monster 2000 is an air controller it doesn't have the right type of brake functioning or reverse. If you ran mechanical brakes it might work out though.
That thing is crazy big! Its bigger than some lipo packs I run. Damn!!
I was interested in trying the mTroniks Beast esc, but never found a place that carried it in the USA. And ordering from overseas made it more expensive than an RX8. ANyone know where to get one in the US. Id still be interested in trying one out. I wanted to do a winter snow basher with it since its waterproof.
I can't decide if its more fun
to make it...
or break it...
I've a Mtroniks beast for 4 months and I'm very pleased with it. I bought it for it's waterproofness and field setting card and didn't have much expectations but it has suprised me. It's way smoother than my MMM and I don't have any heat issues on 4s Lipo.
I use it on a hyper 8 pro buggy with a medusa 36/70/2000.
