My 5T w/ new Hostile MXT tires, rims, Klotz oil and bodily injury! *pics/vid* - 04.21.2010, 11:00 PM

I finally got my replacement tires from DDM and finally got the chance to try them out yesterday after work. I couldn't believe the traction difference with these in comparison to the stock tires!!! They absolutely shred grass and tear across loose soil like its nothing! I also added some silicon exhaust tubing to help route the exhaust farther from the chassis so now I don' t have to clean up exhaust crap anymore. It was hard to tell if there was any performance loss as a result.

I also finished up the last bit of my included HPI oil and immediately got a fresh gallon of non ethanol 91 octane gas and mixed in Klotz's Supertechniplate oil! Man, weird stuff! It looks like freaking cherry cough syrup and smells like Play Doh which really surprised me. I kinda liked the smell of dino oil better but I think i'll get used to it. What immediately amazed me was how much smoother my engine sounded with the Klotz compared to the HPI oil! Throttle response seemed smoother as well. After a bit more tuning, my engine just seemed to come alive with the Klotz so with a bit more tuning, I think it will run great and last a long time!

I also learned the HARD way about Baja safety. I was taking pictures close to the ground for dramatic shots, I was driving the Baja towards me for an up close picture and I didn't react fast enough while staring at the camera screen and before I knew it, my Baja was right in my face. At half throttle I rammed myself in the shins, the Baja hitting me so hard it knocked me flat on my back with my feet up in the air. I'm sure the people around me got a good laugh at it, but I was in too much shock with what just happened, the pain in my shin and the blood to be embarrassed. Owwwy...... I was shocked at how much kinetic energy that big RC truck has when its in motion, now I know better. I'll be keeping my distance from my 5T now unless I have full body armor.

Nuff text, on with pics and vid!

This was the picture I took at the moment of impact as the 5T hit me in the legs and ending up flat on my ass in the dirt.

With that lead in I was expecting to see at least some blood. :(
OTOH, it looks like it look all the hair off that side off your leg. I wouldn't suggest trying to shave a Brazilian like that.

You did have a good suggestion tho. Get in full football/baseball/hockey armor and have the Baja ram you at full speed, preferably off a jump. That would be a sweet video. You could be the next RC Jackass.

all you got was that little cut? my rustler has done worse to me lol. looks like you're having a lot of fun with your baja. i guess 1/5 scales are more your style.

They say a good mechanic only needs 2 tools - WD40 & Duct tape. If it moves, and its not supposed to, duct tape. If it doesn't move, and its supposed to, WD40.

Sweet pictures, as always! Looks like fun.

I don't see any uncontrolled bleeding?

BrushlessBoy16 is another story, he knows how to hurt himself.
