Yep, it can go from 1s to 6s, as stated here. Not only is it missing a fan, but there is no BEC either.

Rather radom but the technical drawing still shows the fan:

http://www.castlecreations.com/suppo...ro-onecell.pdf

Also the text says :

"These controllers will have their BEC circuit disabled -- removed actually -- so you will need an outboard 4.8 - 6.0 volt power source to run your electronics. We recommend a CC BEC or CC BEC Pro. "

Isn't that a touch pointless as running on 1 cell you need a voltage step up device such as the Novak boost to get to 5/6v...

Also says "We’ve also taken the fans off so users have an easier time squeezing them into tight confines" so adding a CC BEC Pro (which is about the same size as a MMPro) would be a little pointless...

PS Yes I'm having one of those afternoons.

its cool, even on a bad day your still a big help

so can the ccbec step up the voltage to 6v or 7v of of a single cell, i though that was something else?

so what are the one cell pan car guy running to power their radios and servos?

Pointless, yes, but there is apparently a class for 1s cars...

NO, the CCBEC and BECPro are buck regulators, and can only step-down the voltage. IIRC, Novak makes a boost regulator.

No as referenced above...

I guess it should say for 1S operation you need to use something orange.... and for 2s or higher you need to use a CC BEC to make it functional....

I just run 2s LiPo and LiFe directly into my receiver and use an HV servo. Only problem is that as the pack is discharged the voltage going to the servo drops meaning less torque and speed. It isn't very noticeable to someone like me who just drives for fun, but for racing it probably isn't the best solution.

HobbyCity has a 1-cell lipo voltage booster available now.

I'm a little surprised Castle didn't bring one out when they released the 1-cell MMP.

You can build your own boost regulator with the LM2577 IC. Pretty simple base circuit with minimal external parts, and ratings up to 3A and input voltage around 3.5v. I'm sure there are similar devices out there, that was a quick search. You might want to look at LED driver circuits for ideas; there are many circuits that will boost from a single AA cell to drive an LED. It won't be adequate for servo duty, but could give you ideas. Also look into the "joule thief" circuit for ideas.

I was meaning to pick up one of those HC voltage boosters on my last order, and of course forgot. Maybe next time...
