Hurt tranny, what to do? - 06.18.2006, 02:27 AM

I ran my E-maxx for the first time with 12 cells on the 10L. About 7 or 8 mins into the run, I blew 8 or 9 teeth off of the high speed idler gear. I see that there are steel idler gears that I can upgrade to, but won't that just cause another gear to strip. I would like to know if there are any other metal gears for the e-maxx tranny? Also, is there an upgraded input drive shaft gear because I've busted the pin in one of those before. thanks

The metal idler pretty much make's the gear's bomb proof. Like you said you'll be snapping either those pin's or the complete input axle next.

There is only 1 really good upgrade, and that is the ultramaxxed tranny gear's. But those are rare and very expensive if you do find some. And heavy. I'd get a metal idler and stick a nail thru the input pinion and bend it to secure it.
