Would this setup work? - 11.08.2010, 12:31 AM

Okay so here's the deal, I recently converted my HPI MT2 to brushless, it now has a longer chassis so it's closer to 1/8 scale. I'm using a Sidewinder/Velineon 3500 motor combo on this & it's getting decent speeds but not what I really want. So I was thinking since Castle is having a clearance sale right now, would a Mamba Max/1512 1800kv motor combo work? I probably have to install a BEC to run 4s but I just wasn't sure if this setup would work, any thoughts?

Yeah it would work, with the external BEC like you said. Might be worth considering getting a Mamba Max Pro. By the time you buy the Mamba Max and a Castle BEC that will be about $100. The Mamba Max Pro is only a bit more cash, has a built-in BEC that can handle up to 6S, and will have a 1-year warranty.

That's what I thought but you're right for a few more dollars I can use a MMP instead which is newer. Thanks for the reply.
