differential grease??? - 04.20.2006, 05:40 PM

ok, im sorry if this is a re-thread or something, but i searched and couldn't find my answer, or did I ?

i have just recieved the rusty/Pede aluminum/steel diff in the mail today (ordered from here ofcourse), thanks Mike....

but what diff grease should i be putting in this, i dont wanna go through some dumb trial error of buying something too thick or too loose like i did with shock oils..... and yes, i already have the aluminum idler gear too, so my tranny is ready to go, now just need turnbuckles and motor and , and , and , and........

you all know how it goes, never done, lol...

i think i saw somewhere somebody said 10k diff grease/oil, is that right?

With a sealed diff you use different weights of silcone oil but i don't think this is a sealed diff (i may be wrong-happens quite frequently-lol).If it's not sealed then don't use silcone,it'll just ooze out all over the place.Instead you can either just use a regular grease to run the diff quite loose or you can use a thick tacky grease like tamiya anti-wear grease for more limited-slip effect.
