Arrow Nick's Slash 4x4 "Powered by Insanity" Project - 12.09.2010, 10:25 PM

Hey guys,

I'm sure a lot of you know me from my Slash 4x4 videos here:
http://www.youtube.com/user/nicksourceUK
...If you are already a subscriber, hello fans! :D

I'd like to share with you my project. ;)

Powered by a Neu 1527, MGM X-Series and 6s Lipo, it boasts some serious power and I hope this weekend I get to do the first big test run, so stay tuned.

I've done a lot of custom modifications, from a 10mm stainless steel centre driveshaft, front mounted servo and other chassis alterations.

Neu 1527 next to Castle 2200kv:

MGM X-Series next to Traxxas VXL:

Read and see it all here:

I look forward to your questions and comments. :)

and by the way... it's not staying in the Slash lol this is just something to waste some time on, before it is dropped into a 1/5th.

Nick.

You know an axe will do a much better job making a slash into 2 peices

Going to be a beast for as long as it holds together!

It's defiantly expected, lol.

First proper run tomorrow I hope, if the MGM holds up okay, had some issues programming it but all sorted now.

6s on 20/36 gearing. :) I have a video of it on 3s and 20/52 gearing, it was rapid.

The Neu 1527 is so so smooth, beautiful motor.

I've spent a little on beefing up some parts of the Slash, MIPs all around and fabricated a custom driveshaft (that joins direct to the outputs rather than using splines like stock). Obviously there will be an issue with flexing which I can't resolve easily, I've ordered a New Era roll cage which should help. Straight line runs until then!

On the other site you have that the 1527 is a "0.5Y", what KV is that ??

the diffs hold up great in the little 4x4 because the truck is so light and the tires arent wide enuff to make traction

Thanks a lot for the comments guys. :D

Diffs and slipper shaft are my only concern, I intend to be gentle for the first, oooo... 2 minutes at least, lol.

0.5Y is the 2500kv Competition Wind. :)

Hey Nick!
Nice to see you are still after the sick power.
Hope it doesn't fly to far up in the air.
