Longest WB Short Course body? - 01.22.2011, 09:55 PM

Looking to do a custom SC build with an 1/8 buggy as a donor. Wondering which SC body has the longest wheelbase? Width would be nice too, at the wheelwells.

Thanks!

I think the stock sc10 body may be your best bet, I could be wrong. I saw an RC8 with the SC treatment at the track once and the SC10 body was a perfect fit. There's always the SC8 body but that's based on a truggy chassis.

Yeah, something like the sc8 body. I will have to see if proline make a thick one, or is one of the factory bodies thick?

I don't know about the thickness of the SC8 body but my SC10 RTR body is def thicker than the Traxxas bodies

Guessing 0.040"

I knowJ Concepts bodies are tough, their Raptor body looks really good, not sure about the dimensions for what your doing though.

I will check that raptor body out. I am only looking at this as I have found a buyer for all of myu revo stuff locally, and would still like to do a short course truck. I was going to do a slayer, but that guy offered me a great price for the revo stuff.

You gotta start somewhere. Get some decent tools, a good machinist square and ruler go a long way.

Your correct, my tool selection is pretty basic. What would be nice to see is all the tubular bumpers actually fabbed up from small tubing and welded, I guess a really scale SC like the scale rock crawlers out there.

This body would make it easy. http://www.jconcepts.net/store/index...roducts_id=334

Not sure if I care for that body, but I can certainly make bumpers out of tube or rod and weld them up. Not a master welder, but I can work a mig welder on steel very well. Welding sheet metal on cars trains some finesse due to material thickness.

I had planned to make some serious bumpers and roll cage for my savvy 5t build, try to keep the body sorta safe...

The HPI Blitz bodies are the widest/longest and will fit 1/8 buggy chassis the best , then the AE SC 10 bodies . Anything made for the Slash will be a bit short .

The Rear bumper for the Slash 4x4 is pretty easy too mod too work as is the RPM front bumper for the 2WD Slash .
