new set up - jumpy - 04.28.2006, 10:22 PM

I just installed the 1st BL system. 8XL, 12020, MPI CVD's, Porline shocks, everything else is stock - including the receiver. It is pretty jumpy - meaning when I give it throttle it just skips around. The servos work fine, so I think the receiver is ok. I twisted all the lines, put the receiver in the back - and that helped. Any suggestions? I added some pics. Thanks!

Is it cogging? It quite possibly could be.

Also, are those high quality batteries? You should try SxS batteries to compensate the high amp draw.

Have you tried it with a reciever pack? Or have you tried moving the ubec around, the placement of it is critical, moving it just a tiny amount can make the difference between undriveable interference and no interference. They really don't like to be near other electronics as they're affected by electrical noise.

They are cheap batteries. I have 4 sets of IB3800 but am waiting for the jig to come in. I have not movied the UBEC around. I will give that a try. I Initially had it int he back, then switched it with the receiver.

It's probably the batteries not able to deliver the current if the steering isn't twitching aswell but if you have a reciever pack then that's the easiest way to rule out the ubec.I find it's worth experimenting with the position of the ubec in any case to get the most radio range.

That would make alot of sense. If I so really slow on the throttle it does alot better. The servos are smooth. The battery jig should be in this week, so I will put those together and give it a go. I really appreciate your help!

Yes, it are the batteries i guess if you use a seperate receiver pack (better than 4AA cells) it would go with those cheap ones though.

I'm glad that you have IB3800s to use, since I would be laughing at such a simple solution to this jumpy-ness.
