I don't expect this to take any traffic away from mike's site. I just figured you guys would want to know that someone out there is doing a review/test of Maxamps, I know how much everyone around here loves the place
If you need to sign up for an account to see the thread let me know and I'll post his discharge graph...

Here's a 30A discharge graph showing a couple cycles of the $130 MaxAmps 6500mah True 150C 7.4V LiPo versus a $35 Gens Ace 5000mah 40C, a $29 Sky LiPo 40C pack, and a lower-rated Turnigy.
Between the two cycles, this MaxAmps 6500mah pack, discharged to 3.0V/cell, took less than 4900mah to fully recharge. After the second discharge, it took 4848mah.

Well that's not much of a graph since it doesn't show amp draw. Not helping MA though since their packs are 1500mah higher capacity and they all die off within about 20 sec of each other.
RC-Monster RC8T 1515 2.5D/MMM/5s RC-M 4500mah
SC10 MMPro 13.5T 2s NeuEnery 5000mah
RC18T Mamba 25/5400kv 2s lipo + 6s NiMh

Thanks metallover for posting the graph :) And yeah, only a 30A constant drain. Battery doesn't even take 5Ah...

Good to see some graphs and thanks to Jang for the tests and ML for posting it.
The results don't really surprise anyone here do they, curious where that extra 1500mah went to tho ?
I retired from RC, now life is all about guns and long range shooting.

the flames on the packs take up 1500mah
its likely that the cells in the pack the sold him are not the 6500mah cell, i have receved so that were not what they claimed they were in the past..............that was before i learned my lesson
the joke of the day is that the cheap gen ace packs out performed the ma pack

This is the graph that Brandon "the salesman" posted.
Compare the two.
They are not the same cell IMO.
The cells inside the Pack that Maxamps tested are NOT the same cells inside the packs that Maxamps are selling.
Either way, they are Pitiful for the Price.

I guess on a semi-related note: a battery I won from them last september is speced to 5250mAh, and it only takes about 4800mAh.

MA needs to buy HobbyPartz cells and reshrink them with Flames.
I have 4-40C 5000mah 2s Sky hardcases that all take 5300+ mah from 3.1 LVC
I retired from RC, now life is all about guns and long range shooting.
