Castle Mamba Monster issue

Hey I have a problem with the way my truck brakes. When I go from forward to reverse, it's pretty smooth, it slows down and goes into reverse.
But when I am in reverse and go forward, it just SLAMS into forward with no gradual transmission. This is bad for drivetrain and motor. I am using a 3PM transmitter...any help will be great thanks.

I do not believe this is an actual issue or problem. Its how every brushless and brushed system I have ever owned has acted. While it can be annoying and can be rough on drivetrains I would like to see castle release firmware that applied brake with forward trigger input after going in reverse and use the same brake model for a reverse brake as the forward brake.

Honestly, we originally had it that way -- and everyone hated it. We got so many complaints, we changed it so there is no delay in transition from rev to forward.

I have seen other brands with prop. brakes in forward and reverse. But, Patrick is right, it can be annoying.

Eh i've learned to live with it so its no big deal really. Besides I rarely ever use reverse seeing as how I usually just power over everything with my REVO lol.

There is- just don't squeeze the throttle so hard from a standstill, and let the truck stop rolling/ moving backwards before applying forwards throttle- torque control may help a bit too..

Torque control works REALLY well. I wish more people would take the time to set it up and try it.

I haven't updated the firmware in any of my ESCs in a while now. The last I heard, there were some potential issues in the later releases. I was happy with the performance of what I had so I didn't update, but I'd like to try the torque control. What's the latest release with torque control that seems to drive the best?

I am half way there... I set it up on one of my newer MMPs (did motor test), just haven't actually put any setting in there as I have no idea where to start .

Not sure what version, but you can check release notes on Castle website. Be aware that some older controllers have issues with the newer firmware.

Punch control=torque control?

I really liked the torque control when I tried it but I had too much stuttering/cogging issues with it when I did use it which im pretty sure is due in part to crappy batteries. I would have already upgraded to better batteries but unfortunately any and all hobbies as of here late for me have been put on hold for the last few months with so much going on with the holidays and my vacation to Minnesota with the gf's parents. Im sure its time to retire my 2 year old 4s 4400mah zippies I use in parallel in my ERBE.

Nah. Two separate setting. Think of punch control as a current limiter and torque control as a traction control.

punch control is actually a throttle delay(acts as if you moved the throttle more slowly), while torque control actually limits output torque(effectively a current limit). Punch control sucks, while torque control is quite useful IMO. :)
