Opinion on some aftermarket parts for my Fluxes

Hi guys. Just after an opinion on a few aftermarket parts that I intend to fit to my Savages. I want to fit a rear wing to one of them and have a spare wing kit from my RC8Te that I have laying around. I think it should be an easy fit with a aluminum aftermarket shock tower. Dril couple of holes and should be all done. I also have plans for making up a reinforcement of some kind to the TVPs to the shock tower to prevent it bending from the force applied by the wing in crashes. That is the easy part. What I am having trouble with is which brand of shock tower to go with. There are quite a few options and I am stumped. One thing I know I don't want anything from Integy.

Second on the list is shocks. I have bought some CEN piggy back shocks. I have rebuilt them (even though they were new) and filled them with fresh oil and they already started to leak before I even mounted them on the truck. I also didn't have much luck with the stock Flux shocks neither. One run on them and couple of them started to leak. Are there any better options? I saw the Aluminum Big Bores from HPI. Bit on the pricey side but then I saw THESE and thought if I am going to be spending that kind of money I might as well go all the way. Are they any good? Anyone have experience with them? Judging by the price they should be able to take just about anything.

Last thing (for now) is the diffs. I know that the stock BP diffs are a good thing but I have heard here and there that they can be beefed up using Hot Bodies parts I think. Would anyone be kind enough to tell me from which exact model to use the diff parts from?

Soz, can't help with Al. shock towers.

Aluminum big bores are not any better on the leakage from most reports than the standard big bores. They also have a further disadvantage in that the o rings are in a cartridge and can't be cleaned properly without breaking the cartridge open if I remember correctly.

I've found stock plastic big bores do leak a little but i get away with 6 months or so of bashing before i need to top them up. Have been thinking of tracking down some alternate o rings as I think they are the prob, the design is ok.

Haven't read much about experiences with the new Innovative shocks. I do know they are very heavy(~100gm per shock over stock big bore) which is worth considering. They also require the Innovative shock tower mounts. I've used these and they tend to destroy your body where it hits them.

As for diffs, try some Vorza diffs. These have the slightly larger hot bodies internal gears and a cup that allows for a 8x16 bearing instead of 10x16. Just fit Flux out drives and bevel gear.

here is a good cheap reinforcement for shock towers on the savage electric
delrin or acteyl rod drilled in the ends and with longer shock bolts threaded right in
i use larger 4mm bolts for toughness
this can work with stock roll hoop also

Soz missed the bit about shock tower reinforcement before. Here's what I did

I have the HD diff's in my 14.5 pound savage with a Castle 1717 and they have never failed. (knock on wood)

I would wait and see if they fail. Just my 2 cents.
