Possible pinion alternative for V.1 RC-M diff conversion - 12.12.2011, 02:01 AM

I have been working on a work-around for the V.1 RC-M 1/8 diffs, with the shaved down pinions. I believe i have found something, using CRT.5 diff parts.

My idea is to use the CRT.5 ring and pinion, With my existing Hot bodies diff case and internals.

The idea is that the pinion is 5mm, solid and easy to get bearings for, The problem, i got to use the ring and pinion as a set due to ratio (3.25 CRT.5 vs 3.31 1/8 hot bodies buggy). I looked for specs for the diffs and could find none, so i ask those of you that have a CRT.5 and may have test fit something

My questions for this are:
1. How close are the CRT.5 diffs to a true 1/8 diff? If i can do a straight diff swap, easier for me and no parts swaping
2. Will the CRT.5 diff gear fit on the hot bodies diff case i already have? The pinion is a 12 and the ring is a 39 so not sure if 1. it will fit and 2. If i can adjust it proper

Thank you and i hope someone can help me in my quest

Work because i gotta, play because i wanna

People here hate Nitro, I love it. I start it, run it about 50 ft from me and it dies, I go after it. Perfect exercise
