Losi 8t conversion finished - 06.13.2008, 08:34 PM

I finished my Losi 8t ! thanks to all your posts I pretty much found everything I needed to know without bothering you all lol. Since I got the build info from here I wont bore you with too many details-Just want to say thanks to you all and Mike for the goods and how to's - Losi 8T , 10k-30-7k diffs, 48spur/17pinion, 1515/1y, (smoked monster victim) MM/bec/fan 2700uf 25v caps on the way, 2x 2s Neu 30c 5k, Rc-monster mount, rc designs tray/esc mount, King Headz aluminum (i know) hitech 985mg, lpr bowties on rulux half-ups (1/2" offset) and my lady bought me that Lid from ebay thanks babe ! Just a trip to the hardware store for some mesh for the fan and zips for the esc then get some dirt on it, I think im good. 10 minutes driving after getting it all setup went well, - no smoke, didnt crash, low heat.. Any input, suggestions, things i missed/should improve, criticism, no0b bashing, cretin jokes- are all welcome !

Love those Rulux wheels! That will definitely be what goes on my CRT next. Did you just dye them with some black RIT?

Nice looking truck, amazing that a cretinous noob like yourself got that together!

Seriously, that truck does look good. Should have plenty of power with the neu 5k lipos. Not sure about the yellow on the split loom, but your wiring is very tidy! .

Just a tip on the fan you are running. If you can get it turned at a slight angle, you may be able to bolt it on thru diagonal holes, instead of the bolt being next to each other, and the other side unsupported. The fans like to be help tight ad not flex, I have had issues with that. Otherwise your build looks great. I look forward to hearing about how much fun you have with it!

Center diff casing is by GH hobby got it fom their website, lets just say I wont be buying anything from them again and they wouldnt take my order if I did lol, the servo tray is from impakt i think its for the buggy as it doesnt quite fit right but it makes it alot stiffer which is what counts

Yees I am lucky i didnt electrocute myelf or lose a finger with the dremel, but with all the wisdom here I escaped unscathed except a blister on my search finger ! It was yellow or purple split loom lol, i have 20 ft of each in my garage from car stereo installs and should really get something else ! Ill redo the fan it is kind of hanging off , i have a 25mm novak fan but it looked like it blocked too much of the heat sink.

If you have the 25mm novak fan, make some spacers to place it about 1/4-3/8 inch over the heatsink. The fans are more effective with an air gap.

Looking good! I love it. It looks like you're using a plastic spurgear am I right? Is it a Kyosho one and does it fit without any modifications?

Nice looking truck. Some question, why do you have it geared for around 50mph? How hot does your ESC, motor and batteries get? How often do you WOT?

Edit: My mistake. I thought I saw 1512/1Y, but I looked again and saw it is the 1515/1Y. Don't mind my post.

thats the stock 48 on there. and a 1515 1y 4s for mid -40s. I have the kyosho 46 but I read someone had issues meshing, I have the neu motor spacers and alot of shaft room so I dont see it being an issue ? ill probably try and pop it on next overhaul but its not loud as it is. I had a 5s 30c and the MMM and 46t all ready as plan A, luckily the MMM died because that would have been just retarded. Its really fast as is on 4s/48p, I think 55 mph in a truggy may be a bit overkill, guess ill put that in something else. I do that at dinner too, always overorder.
