Hyper 7, the longest production 8th scale buggy of all time? - 01.22.2012, 08:26 PM

So I was looking around today for some parts for my Hyper one Seven, which is a 1/7th scale GT Class on-road version of the old Hyper 7 PBS.

One of my searches led me to the Hobao site and low and behold they are STILL producing the Hyper 7 TQ. How many years has this buggy been in production? When I got back into true hobby level RC nearly 7 years ago the Hyper 7 was old then.

You dont' hear about it much now, its not really in the RC news, but even with the Hyper 8 and Hyper 9 the 7 still has tons of support from the mfg directly.

For anyone interested in the 1/7th scale Hyper One Seven, it never really took off here in the states, but it did in Taiwan and Europe because of the Rally Game craze.

This is a Hyper One Seven stripped and ready for electric conversion. The front driveshaft is 160mm long, the rear is 99mm.

True i guess. I think my "fond" memories of that buggy made me forget about it. The cheapest quality diffs and most flexible chassis I've ever seen.

It was my first 8th scale buggy though.

Maybe they've been upgraded since then, it was 6-7 years ago when I had the LX One. I didn't run it for long before picking up a Jammin X1 Pro roller on ebay for $150. I swapped everything over and upgraded from there, still have that Jammin.
