Looks like the Kershaw Designs motor/esc combo Motor
and ESC
$330 for the KD combo, $180 for the OKHobby.
It doesn't look too bad, but I'll be waiting for the Castle 5th scale.
How many poles do the Neu/Castle motors have? IE 1515, 1520 etc.
The Castle and Neu 15-series motors are 4-pole. Some of the OK Hobby motors are also 4-pole. I have one of the OK Hobby 4363 (basically 1512 size in Neu/Castle spec) in my buggy right now. Works better than a 2-pole 540 L or XL size motor, but still runs hotter than a Castle or Neu.
I asked the OKhobby Customer Service (Who else do I ask?) how much wattage the 1/5 motors produced. The lady who replied under 4000 continous, which sounds about right, but also 4000 max? That sound a bit weird?
Is this rebadged Kershaw stuff, or is it the SAME as what Kershaw is selling? There's only a somewhat minor price difference (Compared to other rebadged stuff.), as they are both pretty cheap (Relatively), so I wouldn't be surprised if it was the same stuff.
Anyways, I received the 1/5 combo and 1/18 combo along with the Savage conversion kit today. Will hopefully get to try it out this weekend, will start with 6s on the 1/5.
It took the package around 5 weeks from ordering to delivery. Was in shipping for about 3-4 weeks. That's really slow IMO. I live in Norway, by the way.
What conversion did you order for the savage, the OK-hobby one or the KD 1/6-scale conversion? IMO the OK-version looks like it takes only 36mm can motors in the pics.
Are you going to try and find out if the 1/5 combo can drive a baja 5b etc. around at a decent speed? A 1/6 scale savage is so in another weight class.

I have the cars that I really wanted before I got them ;-)
