servo slipping - 08.11.2012, 01:52 PM

I my truck into something with a locked up servo saver. My servo took some serious damage. Its a Savox 1256tg the gears were all fine, but the middle shaft(inside the servo) was bent and the upper case holding the middle shaft in that bronze carrier. The upper case plastic, it cracked. I repaired all the broken parts. The servo turns like it should now but when under a little pressure it just makes a spinning sound. Almost as if the motor is slipping mechanically.

What is happening? Can I fix it? Does this sound like something Savox will warranty? Its only about a month old.

I would press silent on my phone and laugh my arse off and tell you where to go, then put you back on the line and politely decline the free repair but offer you a new servo at cost +postage, and explain to you what servo savers are for and how well they do their job when locked.

I would take the cap off, and power it up. See if you can see exactly where it's slipping. Sounds to me like there might be a stripped gear in there somewhere after all.
