High Speed Cogging

I'm running a Mamba Monster with a Neu 1512/2D (2550kv) on 5S and it was running fantastic. Ran it Monday night and it was doing great. Temps on the ESC were barely enough to get the fan started on the MMM and motor was 140*F after an entire pack of hard running. Pack was 90*F. It's a FlightPower 4350mah 30C 5S.

Tuesday night I went to the track again. I charge up the pack and put it in and all of a sudden it's got random cogging at anything except full throttle. It seems especially bad at medium throttle ranges.

I checked my wires thinking it was a loose connection and everything seems fine.

Any other ideas?

Loose or dirty connection...

Your missing a phase from the ESC/motor.

You must use the Lowest possible timing with any D wind motor (you can confirm on Neu Motors website).

Cogging only occurs on start-up. What you have is glitching probably caused by the radio system. This occurs with high torque/high speed digital servos running off the onboard BEC in an ESC. If this is the problem a separate more powerful BEC will resolve it.

Thanks for the reply! I will try changing the timing and report back.

I'm running a Mamba Monster Max with the internal BEC set at 7V with a 3300mah electrolytic cap and two 100mah tantalum caps to help combat brown-out issues.

The reason why I don't believe it is glitching is because I still have full steering response when this happens and the system ran fine for multiple full-pack runs prior to this issue happening.
