Or is the wrenching to drive time achieved way lop-sided, It is true I do like to build but I am starting to wonder. Building & taking apart stuff & then rebuilding the same stuff .......It is true that I have a faster car than before.

I think you are right. I think it is like that for pretty much anything considered high performance. I imagine since all the parts are being stressed because of the high torque and power of brushless setups, any weaknesses will be found. However, once you find the perfect blend of parts and components that gives you the performance and relaibility you want, you'll be all set!

I'd love to se a picture of your truck throwing a big fat roost.. If you think your doing a lot of work now just go drive it on the street for a while. Every crash breaks at least 1 item. Trial and error to find the next weakest link.One part at a time.

I have done the street and curbs have been very damaging. Across the street from my house there is a big flat resivor top 100Yds By 100yds. Great for speed runs, no curbs, there is however just six air vent sticking out. Guess what? I hit one It does make a big roost in sand and climbs suprisingly very well. Right now My Spyder 8 are all apart. Rear was binding & believe it or not I tweeked the output drive cups both sides. They barley came out of the ring gear and the cnc casing opposite. I did have spares and they go in fine. So somehow I bent the drive cups. Those thing are pretty strong too. I am pretty sure that is why my Quark was thermal shutting last beach run, But still it climbed & roosted real good. SO more wrenching.

I have spent much more time fixing than driving. Most of it was my own fault. I started buying UE stuff and currently have my throttle at 30%. I still have some temp issues, but at least I haven't broken or smoked anything on my last two runs. BTW - That is a record for me, 2 runs no damage.

I was cruising my basher around and started to hear the dreaded clicking sound I always read about. Most of the time (from what ive read) when you hear clicking and dont get power when you gun maxx it's your diffs, right?

Well, I tear down the enitre rear end all the way to the gears and everything looked fine. I discovered many hours later it was the hex nuts spinning inside the wheels :035: oh well... live and learn huh

Yea but the next time, and there will be, you have to rip a part your diffs, you can do it in 1/2 hour, blindfolded.

I work on my trucks so much I've gotten to were I can do my whole truck with my hands tied behind my back...

You're dreaming Squee. I only have 1 good arm/hand and mostly I just instruct somone else on how to fix my truck. I try at first but 1 hand just does not cut it. I can usually dissasemble fairly well but assembly is the hard part. I end up with all kinds of foul tasting stuff in my mouth.
