new diff setup questions? - 04.04.2005, 09:33 PM

hey there,

i think im going to UE 6 spiders and im not sure what diff oil to run. i run the 8L on 12 cells. also, i run 16/72 gearing, what would be the equvilant for the UE diffs. i would also like to know the formula to find gearing from stock diffs to UE diffs if anyone knows. thanks

Isaac

I use 5000 weight in the diffs (front and rear). Some run stiffer oil in the front for better on power steering, but I like off power steering (just the way I drive). Basically, drop add two teeth to your pinion when going to the UE diffs for a similar ratio.

Can Anyone spare some shims for the UE Diffs??

I need a few of those 0.010 shims

If your interested, i can find a partnumber of a 8 mm shimset (.1, .2 and .3 mm thick, 10 of each) it's from kyosho.

And i found a shim set from Tamiya of 10 mm shims..

You can buy the setup kit from UE as well.

It would work very well. It would pull harder than the 5000 out of the corners, and have slightly more on power steering (and slightly less off power steering).
