Diffing out...... - 12.09.2006, 09:15 AM

I have a 7XL/Mamba on a Hyper 7 and it runs great on 4s lipo. My only concern is that the batts heat up after a 10 min race. Gearing is 12/46

My question is about the center diff oil wt. and the load on the batts and controller.

Which is a better option:
Lighter oil (7K-10K) so that it diffs more
or
Heavier oil (30K-50K) so that it diffs less

Thanks

Lighter oil would make it spin more so would or should be less load on esc.
The thing is you won't have as good of acceration.

Peace!

The best thing to do if your battery is getting hot is to get a battery that is more suitable (can handle more amps). The next best thing would be to gear the motor down.

I am using the "new" 6000 maH MaxAmps batts. I use these same batts in my E-Maxx (5s on 8XL) and they do not heat up at all.
