In defense of going the cheap route.

Usually, I believe that you get what you pay for. But I have found 2 products that deliver the goods at a low price.
First is the Feigao 540 C motors. I have been thrashing the heck out of these and they are holding up well. They may not have the efficiency of a Neu, but for 90 bucks they are great.
Second is the Bluebird MG-630 servo I use for steering duties. I bought this just to see how long it would take me to destroy it. To my surprise, it's still going strong! 25 dollars for 190 oz/in, metal gears and dual bearings. Not bad.
Anyone have any other recommendations for cheap but good stuff?

In comparison to the Neu and Lehner, the Kontronik line of motors are modarately affordable and very effecient. They dont seem to have a XL size cans, though.

I tried a Blue Bird servo a while back. They DO work well, especially for the price. Just do NOT stall them!

TowerPro servos are really good for the money too.

Just thought I would give un update on the motor and servo. Both are still going strong. I have been running the 7XL Feigao with a 5S Lipo and a huge computer fan, so it has not been pampered. It still runs great. I replaced the bearings just as a precaution but I don't think it needed it. The Bluebird servo is still cranking away too. Never thought a cheap servo would last this long.

I've stopped using the Bluebird servos. However, I only used the 620MG and 621MG, not the 630 series. That said, I went through something like 6 Bluebirds in two cars. One Bluebird is still running strong in my Dark Impact, but if it goes, I'll get a different servo for it.

I am totaly disagree that!
First of all claimed numbers is totaly wrong happy if it 7kg on 6v compared to my BlueBirds
Second thing on my savage, servo is heating like hell and after that they have issue, servo not hold position very well its moving little bit left right left right for a sec or 1,5sec.
Third thing they dont have any water protection (splash, snow)
I had 3 servos one burned second not hold position third had problem with gear, (its not striped but somehow that small gear what conneted on big gear is slippering).
So i made from 2 servos one servo what is in my tool box for emergncy and third one for parts.
So i think save a money and buy at least BlueBird servo it have splash protection and not heating.

But if u tried once good servo like Airtoronics u will seriosly thing not waist money on cheap servos and get good one and u will forget about burned servos stripped gears and etc they are realy durable!

But after all i will recomend BlueBird servo also, very good money/perfomance ratio. Bluebirtd still work nice on my savage!

its cheap to me because of what i can compare it to, i know of the neo star bl combas that are pritty pricy...

but what i really mean is that you can trust mamba maxx system and there support it 5 stars!:)

It is a very good combo, but you can still compare to a 7020 and a Feiagao/Wanderer 6s/8s etc.

What im saying is, its not like paying for a cheap servo(37$) with the specs of a 80$+ servo.

All in all, its a very good buy.

BTW about the servo knotted ; i hated my Blue bird, burnt out and was a waste of 37$. I will stick to Hitec/JR.
