Postage possibilities -

When I order something in the UK from here, it goes out of the US by USPS then into the UK by Parcel Force (Royal Mail).
Parcel Force, if the item is caught in customs keep the package at the depot, send out a letter asking for VAT to be paid (in which the letter can take 1-2 days to come) then they post it with in 3-5 days after it is paid (or next day for £12).
Usually with every other service, DHL for example, don't do this, they deliver it and ask for payment at the door, which saves loads of time PLUS Parcel Force add a clearence fee, of £14.
So I've had to pay £14 to get it through customs!! Only Parcel Force seem to do this charge and it's stupid, I paid the deliver fee and end up having to wait twice as long and pay double as much.
Is it possible to have an option to get it posted by another service such as DHL?
