Hey Guys- Thinkin about Brushless.... BOAT

Im done with my tc4 now and got it to about 90 ill upload a video soon... but now im looking for a boat what should i get i have been looking at the Super Vee and The black jack 26 which is the better deal in the eyes of you guys on here

If you're looking for boats, Offshore is the place for you! I have bought a number of things from them, and they are great to deal with.

I own a Villain IVX, which is a Traxxas Villain IV upgraded to EX specs. It is a really nice boat, but the one thing I don't like about it is that I can't put a brushless motor in it. It requires two motors, unless I do some serious modifications, in which will make it severely unstable. Right now, it is plenty fast enough for me. I have E-Maxx Titans in it with Carbon fiber propellers, 5s A123, and soon to come, as waterproof box, like the EX has. The stupid ESC has gone out on me again, so I'll have to send it in when I get time and money. I plan to put my turn fins back on, as I think they help keep the boat more stable at speed, even though they don't really prevent spin-outs, as they are too small.

If you're looking for speed, then you'll want a Hydroplane. They are very good looking boats, but don't do very well in choppy water, and can't turn left very well. If you plan to run in choppy water, then you'll want a deep V hull, like the Villain EX. I have been thinking about getting a Nitro Vee hull and putting a brushless motor in it. You could consider that.

HEY! I have a Villain EX as well! I am running the water cooling mod, and 5s A123 as well! It is pretty fast I must say, but I am thinking about going brushless as well, I just don't know which motors to get.

So the Villain is the recomendation... whats the major difference in performance of a CAT and Vee hull what gives more speed and handling etc.. the only reason i looked at the super vee is because its brushless as well as the black jack 26

eh.. no .. dont get that.. wait till you can get a supervee 27. most of the time they are back ordered but tower said they are going to have them in stock in a little bit.. if you dont believe me check out my video with a prop and lipo batts

Assumeing the 2 boats weigh the same have the same power and the same sharpness of edges, a hydro has the highest speed then cat then monos.

A shallow V mono submerged drive mono turns the best followed by a cat, then a deepV mono then a hydro.

I prefer cats myself they are nearly as fast as hydros (I've placed in hydro races with one of my cats), turn as well as I want to turn, and handle water nearly as rough as a deep V,

You can make a good deep V turn as well as a cat with big turn fins but that will increase the speed difference between them.

The biggest advantage to a deep V is you can make them self righting, and I haven't found a way to get a cat back on its feet.

you can get a hardware conversion so you can run any 3/16 prop from octura, like two x442 , x447 left and right and better motors, but if you can get a sv27 get it alot of bang for your buck, with the right prop some driveline tweaks and good nimh cells it will go 40mph
