ESC Motor leads and BEC

I'm about to try using my Mamba Max to run my E-Truggy. I'm using a 4s LiPo setup, anyway what male connector should I put on my motor to mate up with the ESC female? I've got some Team Orion 4MM but they seem a little too big...

How do you disable the BEC, I've got an external UBEC I want to use. I've heard you can just clip the red wire and that will do it but I wonder if you guys can confirm that. Someone also told me I don't have to clip it, that I can somehow back it out but I can't see how to do that, any info would be appreciated.

Most people either use 4mm plugs or hard-wire the motor wires directly to the ESC wires. The plugs makes swapping motors and/or ESCs a little easier, but hard-wiring provides a better connection.

Yup, just remove the red wire from the throttle plug. Clipping the wire works, but a better way is to pull the actual connector out of the plug. Just use the tip of an Xacto blade to slightly bend back the plastic tab holding the connector in and pull it out. Then, I fold the wire back against the throttle cable and heatshrink it.

OMG - you would not believe how long I've been in this hobby and NEVER knew how those things were held together! That was SO easy! Red wire pulled back...Thank you so much.

Well, since I'm in a learning mood...anything I should watch out for pushing this thing to 4s? I know the manual says 3s is the limit but it seems so many guys are about to make it purr on 4s I figured I'd give it a try...my 18.97 is so flakey...

Which truggy are you going to run this in? Generally speaking, just keep an eye on the temps.

Just watch for temps. If things get too hot, you might want to adjust gearing.
