I thought about this myself. The boots are just too nice, right?

Let's see, the distance between the pillow balls is not the same, so you would change the suspension geomety. You would create something like "bump camber change"

And the Revo knuckles require some different bearings, too. Should not be a big problem, but the difference in pillow ball distance already turned me away from this idea.

The distance between the pillow balls would only affect roll center, so it shouldn't have a noticeable impact on handling (if the pillow balls are farther apart, it would have the effect of a thin sway bar). I have had the pillow balls pull through the revo steering blocks a few times (before I switched to aluminum knuckles), but the same thing happens with the maxx knuckles on occasion(though not seemingly as easy).

Thanks for the correction. I thought if the pillow balls are a different distance, you would change the camber over the suspension travel. But this was just a thought.

Mike, these alu knuckels for the Revo, which ones would you suggest?
I heard there will be an 8mm stub axle conversion, but can't remember the company. RD, perhaps?

I use Golden Horizon knuckles on mine, but the RDL knuckles are fine, too. As are the Integy knuckles(haven't tried these yet, though). An 8mm stub axlwe conversion sounds like the work of UE. I suppose I need to list these items in my store sooner rather than later!

Mike, if you have alloy knuckles, is the pillow ball to knuckle a metal to metal friction?
I know on the retainers you'll have some plastic pads, but what about the inside of the knuckle?
I always imagine nice teflon thingies there.
Have never seen alu knuckles. But metal on metal sounds like trouble.

It is metal to metal. I use some MIP lube on the pillow balls to keep the friction minimal. The knuckles are aluminum and the pillow balls are steel, so the wear is minimal (aluminum on aluminum would creat more friction). Some pillow balls are actually teflon coated(excellent idea).

Thanks! I see.
The boots are a nice advantage, then.

I should be able to work out a way to teflon-coat stuff in my lab. Just in case the need arises, one day. ;)

Ja, it definitely opens you alot of possibilities. Access to kowledge is a valuable thing, too.

Nice to know (and work with) people who can make use of those possibilities.

Hey, this just gave me an idea. I will try to do this with some stock steel pivot-balls. Gotta check some literature.

Sure! Will look into it next week.
If it requires some kind of molds, it won't be something I can do over my lunch break. Let's see.
