Lsp Owners Help Me Out - 05.30.2007, 09:47 PM

Who owns a Hot Bodies LSP here?

How do you like it? Can you get parts for it?

Would it be worth buying one to convert to brushless???

I have a line on one and I'm wondering if I should look seriously at it or go for a Sportwerks Mahem, or a Revo to convert to brushless....

What do you guys think???

I don't own a LSP as I'm sure you know, but will this be more for racing or just general bashing?

I have had 2 and love them. I still have one (w/ BPP LSP chassis). Parts aren't really hard to get and there built like a tank.

I've got one...haven't run it yet though. Parts are readily available from either tower or amainhobbies.com. If you buy one to convert to BL, I have a spare RCM BL motor mount I didn't use because I sold off my 2nd LSP-R. I'd be willing to let it go for a good price or trade.

@ Thanks Squee.....I thought you have one or more of the LSP. I'm looking to throw my NEU & MM ESC into SOMETHING so I can use it until my Supermaxx if completed (Maybe 2010??? ...JK) I can pick up an LSP w/o motor, pipe, or Rcvr/TX for $175-$200 or a Sportwerks Mayhem 1/8 buggy for $100 (Roller) or a REVO 3.3 Roller for ~$150

Any recommendations???

@ Skellyo....If I buy the LSP consider that RC-M mount SOLD!!! I'll let you know. Thanks!

IMO, I'd take the LSP. The Revo would be nice except for the fact that you're looking at $250 for bulletproof diffs for it. Regardless, I think you'll be happy with any of them, but with the ease of an RCM mount for the Revo or LSP, those make it much easier to convert.

Forgive me if this is a stupid question...

But does the LSP have the Hot Bodies hardened diffs like the ones Mike like to sell???

Oh, BTW...the REVO has an advantage for me in that I already have a REVO 3.3 so I have to stock replacment parts for fewer cars....

They can share bodies, wheels, etc.

What size hexes come on the LSP???

I say if you want a good bashing truggy, get the LSP. I see they don't really show up at the track anymore, but that may just be drivers want the latest and greatest. I think Hotbodies might be discontinuing the LSP, but I'm not sure and it's just based on speculation, price drop, and age of hte vehicle.

It's not my favourite truggy; it's relative cheap made. not a high quality truggy like the jammin pro version.

With the possible exception of the shock, I thought it looked pretty well made but I've never worked on or driven one before.

I think I'm favoring another REVO unless I can come up with a sweet deal on a 8eight, 8Eight-T, Jammin Truggy or similar.

How do you guys feel about the sportwerks 1:8 buggy's? the Mayhem & Turmoil????

pro, have you read my lsp thread? I can't compare to a LSP to any other truggy, as I've never owned any other truggies.. I've heard it's heavier than other truggies available today, but I simply countered that problem, with more power. I've broken a few parts, but 30mph into stationary objects will always end badly.. so far, I'm more than happy with the truck, and I'd say it's my second favorite rc i've owned, next to my old tc3 rally w/ a lehner 5300 on 12 cells.

I have a Mayhem Pro that I am really starting to like (getting dialed in). Running a Mamba max and 8XL on 4s. It is one tough buggy! I got it to try racing it, but so far have only made it to the track for practice. Just put a set of road rages on it for a little parking lot fun, handles pretty nice.

@ dbedbe

I can pick up a used mayhem for $100. Maybe less. I'll toss in a NEU 1515/1y & MM esc.

It needs stiffner braces and body but it's complete otherwise. It's looking like a good deal.

@A4DTM...I'll search for your thread. Thanks!

Go Mayhem if you want, but I heard the Turmoil is a lot better, and that's saying a lot as the Mayhem is GREAT. I've read tons of reviews and things on it and everyone I've ever talked to said it was the best buggy they owned. Same with the Turmoil.
