Need Help With My Electric Truggy Conversion! - 06.07.2007, 04:55 PM

Going to be converting my CEN Arena TR/FR truggy for electric racing this year. I have some question - any help would be greatly appreciated!

1) Who makes or sell a a motor mount for the electric motor - or one that I can rework for my CEN?
2) Clutch bells 13tooth 14tooth and 15tooth for the electric motor?
3) Recommended Motor - Lehner? Hacker?
4) speedo suggestion?
3) Lipo Suggestion

thanks everyone:027: :027:

Mike (RC Monster) could probably make you one, if he doesn't already have one drawn up. That, or you could make one yourself. I've made quite a few of them and it isn't super hard.

As for the gearing, it depends on what motor you go with. If you go with a 1700kv motor, I'd say a pinion in about the 14T to 16T range with a 46T spur gear. As for the motor, that will also depend upon your chosen controller. If you go with a controller that does four pole motors well, then it's easy. Get a Neu. For a truck, the 1515 2.5d is probably as good as it gets. Either that or the 1512 1.5Y or something in that range. If you go with a controller that doesn't like four pole motors, then the Lehner would be the choice, but good luck finding one.

For a truggy on a track, I like the 4S lipo packs. They are a good compromise between power on tap and weight. I run the maxamps 4S2P 8000mAh pack and have had good results with it.

Thanks for the info - greatly appreciated - what diff oils is every running for a starting point? High traction - medium sized track!

Well, just as a general starting point, I'd say something along the lines of 50,000 center diff, 7,000 front diff, and 2000 in the rear diff. When I was running nitro, I went with 10,000 in the center diff, but I like the way my truck acts with the heavy fluid in the center.
