3.3 Revo axles and centers - 05.30.2007, 10:13 PM

I know the axles will fit but will the centers fit? It looks like it has two screws coming out of the center. I also know that I have to cut the chassis to make it fit.

Im sure I respnded to that question in another thread. The revo centre shafts are about 99% the same as the stock E-maxx- plastic poop that wont hold up. You need to get some steel centre shafts such as MIP or the new traxxas ones; there are plenty who make them. What chassis are you using?

Okay, in which case some stock length centre cvds would be great. I looked at the traxxas website & the exploded views of the revo- I really cant se what you mean by the 2 screws sticking out of the revo centre shafts. There is a setpin/screw that holds the UJ onto the output shaft at each end of the slider shaft, but thats it. Plus, I dont think the revo shafts are the right length to work properly on an Emaxx. Try towerhobbies or ebay for some MIP or similar centre cvds. The 3.3 sliders will need to be used with 3.3 knuckles and A-arms due to length/diameter issues, but once the upgrade is complete the truck will be much stronger, and it wont cost much to do either.

You dont need the a-arms cause there the same size. All you have to do is dremal the stock one for clearence.

Hehehe, I should have remembered that. Especially since I took the pictures and told someone else how to do the mod.... I must be getting old.

If they fit, then the revo centres should be an improvement over the stock maxx ones - I looked at the exploded vies and it turns out they are just like mini versions of the long sliders. Thats if they fit- best bet would be to get a pair off of ebay, that way if they dont fit you can resell them and not lose much/any money. Im thinking about the length really- if you can get a pair of centre sliders (2x rear/front whichever is longer), then you can always trim them down a tiny bit if they are too long. The UJ part should be a direct fit though onto the outputs of the diffs/tranny; even if it isnt you can always drill it out a little so that they slide on better.
