Novak SS5800 stutter on 2S 5000 Lipo - 06.14.2007, 09:34 AM

Guys... need some assistance. I put my remanufactured Novak SS5800 in my CRT.5 and running 6 cells is no problem. However, I am getting a stutter on 2S lipo. The SS can handle 7 cell so 2S should not be a problem.

Anyway... when I peg the throttle, the motor will spool up part way and then a second or second and a half later will go to full throttle. I can't imagine this is cogging? Sensored motors do not cogg. :032:

Any thoughts? I tried reprogramming twice, no luck. 6 cells is fine, 2S is weird.

I posted a video as this may be better than the words. Here is the link:

I thought this would be an easy project using what I already have... turns out I may need a MM and 4600.

HELP!

Jon

That is usually the sign on a battery that is too weak. Your battery voltage may be dropping too low when you apply the throttle. You can also check your LVC settings.

The 5Ah pack is usually plenty strong though. Stupid question, but is it fully charged??

The pack is freshly charged (first run)... not getting warm at all. Will double check voltage prior to running again. Yeah, the SS5800 shuold not be exceeding the amperage levels on this pack, not even close. Unfortunately, no lVC on the Novak SS... I have the Novack LVC in the mail now. Will be here hopefully tomorrow.

Maybe bad soldering joints on motor or battery?

Thats a possibility, check the solder joints for heat next time you run it

Work because i gotta, play because i wanna

People here hate Nitro, I love it. I start it, run it about 50 ft from me and it dies, I go after it. Perfect exercise

I'll check them.... I hate soldering so maybe I have a cold joint. Thanks for the ideas.

My other thought was that something is weird with the new remanufactured motor from Novak. A dud? Or something where maybe it is not compatible with the original SS controller and this motor (software?).

Thanks!
